Replacing "Buy Now" button with Product URL

I'm trying to replace the buy now button on certain categories in my catalog. I have the basic idea of how it should work, however, I'm not sure if the category is passed into the product info page.

I'm using the Product URL option and would like the product page link text to be displayed where the Buy Now button is if that field has been filled.

Anyone have any ideas?

I have similiar need. I have a SaS that I use where customers can design there own signs, graphics, etc. But I am using Zen to be the front end since not all the products are design your own.

I have a need to have a user, while in the product info, be able to click on an obvious link/button and be refered to an external site.
