How to show more than 9 Specials?

Hello
Sorry but I am stuck I have read several posts on here but I am having no luck. I have several specials on sale now. To set them up I used catalog/specials. However on the main page under Monthly specials only 9 show?

I tired playing with number of features in maximum section but it does not work? can anyone advice me how I get more specials to show on the first page.? Our site is https://www.prissypups.ca if you want to see what its doing.

Also when I go to layout click show special link.. it shows up on left but when you click it it is blank??

I would appreciate any help.

admin > config > maximum values > Maximum Display of Specials Products - Main Page > set to value desired

If the setting is not responding, check with the template designer to see if they have disabled this or any other functions
