Help inserting an image in the footer

After searching the forums, I still cannot find the answer as to how to insert an image into the footer. I'm trying to add an image I created in Photoshop for the available payment methods. I have inserted the following code in my css stylesheet:

#navSuppWrapper {
height: 120px;
background-image: url ../images/Payment_Methods.jpg);
}

What else do I need to do to get this image inserted into the footer? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The link to my website is https://www.rivercitypetsupplies.com

Thanks!!

Re: Help inserting an image in the footer

when loading the following I get a 404 not found indicating that the image is not at that location (remove space)

http: //www.rivercitypetsupplies.com/includes/templates/ps_template/images/Payment_Methods.jpg

Check that the image has been uploaded, spelled correctly including caps or lack of caps

Re: Help inserting an image in the footer

tat2nu:

It is in the root images folder
This code points to the template images folder

background-image: url ../images/Payment_Methods.jpg);

copy the image to that location

Re: Help inserting an image in the footer

I understand, that is the problem. The image is not there it is in the main images folder. That is what I was trying to say.

Got that but your post only stated that.

I was posting what the OP should do to correct

Re: Help inserting an image in the footer

Thank you both. I made the correction and took out the space, but still no image in the footer. Thanks for pointing it out that I had uploaded the file to the wrong folder. Sometimes you can't see the snake that's right in front of your face!!

What else do I have to do to get this image into the footer?

Thanks for all of your help!!

Re: Help inserting an image in the footer

Try placing the following code in: includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/common/tpl_footer.php

<center><img src="http://YOURSITE.com/images/YOUR_IMAGE.jpg"></center>

Mine is around line 40, but yours may differ slightly.

Check out mistkits.com first to see if that is similar to what you are trying to accomplish. I have a picture of a bug there, yours would be the image you created.

Re: Help inserting an image in the footer

daneh is on the right track after seeing your image which is not perfect for being a background image.
But make the call a relative one instead of an http one so as not to break any SSL pages

<center><img src="images/YOUR_IMAGE.jpg"></center>

And this requires it to be in your main /images folder

Re: Help inserting an image in the footer

If there is not a copy of that file in includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/common/tpl_footer.php to modify then should get a copy of the file from includes/templates/template_default/common/tpl_footer.php and place one there. Then in that new file in includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/common/tpl_footer.php you would want to replace this:

<div id="navSupp">
<ul>
<li><?php echo '<a href="' . HTTP_SERVER . DIR_WS_CATALOG . '">'; ?><?php echo HEADER_TITLE_CATALOG; ?></a></li>
<?php if (EZPAGES_STATUS_FOOTER == '1' or (EZPAGES_STATUS_FOOTER == '2' and (strstr(EXCLUDE_ADMIN_IP_FOR_MAINTENANCE, $_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'])))) { ?>
<li><?php require($template->get_template_dir('tpl_ezpages_bar_footer.php',DIR_WS_TEMPLATE, $current_page_base,'templates'). '/tpl_ezpages_bar_footer.php'); ?></li>
<?php } ?>
</ul>
</div>
```with this:
<div id="navSupp"> <ul> <li><a href="http://www.rivercitypetsupplies.com/"><img src="images/Payment_Methods.jpg"></a></li> <li></li> </ul> </div> ```This gives it a real nice look and the image also acts just as the 'HOME' link did or you could redirect it to a payments information page if you want.
Re: Help inserting an image in the footer
Thanks to all of you for your replies. I tried all of them, but I got the furthest along by adding this code:
<!--bof-navigation display --> <!-- <div id="navSuppWrapper"> <div id="navSupp"> <ul> <li><a><center><img src="images/Payment_Methods.jpg"></center></a></li> <li></li> </ul> </div> --> <!--eof-navigation display -->
However, look at the difference in IE and in Mozilla. Something is still wrong, but I have no idea how to fix it. Do I need to change something in the CSS?
Thanks again for any help you can provide!!!
Meanwhile I'm .....:frusty:
Re: Help inserting an image in the footer
Also, if it's possible I would like for this image to appear to appear above the "Home" link bar. So that it would show in the footer in this order:
  1. Payment methods
  2. Home link bar
  3. Copyright information.
Is this possible. I know I may need to make some changes to the payment methods image, but I want to see how it looks on the site first.
Thanks so much to all!!!
Re: Help inserting an image in the footer
You appear to be still applying this through your css
#navSuppWrapper {
	height: 120px;
	background-image: url(../images/Payment_Methods.jpg);
		}
I do not see the code you posted in your view source???
<div id="navSuppWrapper">
<div id="navSupp">
<ul>
<li><a href="http://www.rivercitypetsupplies.com/">Home</a></li>
<li></li>
</ul>
</div>
</div>
<!--eof-navigation display -->
<!--bof-ip address display -->
<!--eof-ip address display -->
<!--bof-banner #5 display -->
<!--eof-banner #5 display -->
<!--bof- site copyright display -->
<div id="siteinfoLegal" class="legalCopyright">Copyright © 2009 <a href="http://www.rivercitypetsupplies.com/index.php?main_page=index" target="_blank">River City Pet Supplies</a>. Powered by <a href="http://www.zen-cart.com" target="_blank">Zen Cart</a></div>
<!--eof- site copyright display -->
navsuppWrapper is also not the ideal place to insert this as it is occupied with other code
Try adding this cide to a copy of tpl_footer.php for your template
what is in red is the code that exists and what is in green is to be added
<?php
if (!isset($flag_disable_footer) || !$flag_disable_footer) {
?>
<!--bof-payment display -->
<div id="paymentWrapper">
<a><img src="images/Payment_Methods.jpg"></a>
</div>
<!--eof-payment display -->
<!--bof-navigation display -->
<div id="navSuppWrapper">
This will result in what can be seen HERE and should be what you want from your description
Re: Help inserting an image in the footer
Kobra!! Thank you!! Thank you!!!
That worked like a charm!!! Had to make some changes to the image but it is appearing exactly where I wanted.
Just to clarify to help anyone else that reads this post:
  1. I added the code to the tpl_footer.php just like Kobra shows in the post above.
  2. The image is loaded to the main images file - not the template images file.
  3. I deleted the code I had added to the #navSuppWrapper in my template css file.
Kobra - thanks a million for your help, your time and your posting of this answer!! :clap::clap::clap:
Re: Help inserting an image in the footer
hi,
I also tried to put the payment methods picture in the footer by adding the code described here, but it did not go well, and even my own footer went away.
i have made an image and uploaded it to my main images folder, naming it as Payment_Methods.gif
Now, i added the code , by changing the website name to my website, i.e. http://shopping.muteyaar.org and after uploading the tpl_footer file in the concerned template, the picture did not apper and the fooet also went away.
I want to add the animated picture below the footer BLACK LINE. after the "Your IP Address is:" line.
I will be very thank ful if someone can help me.
Re: Help inserting an image in the footer
i had a similar problem yesterday when trying to replace the footer payments image. it was set to display the file payments.jpg and i had a banner made and uploaded it as banner.png
I simply deleted the payments.jpg and used the servers file manager to rename it to payments.jpg and voila image loaded like a charm :)
Re: Help inserting an image in the footer
Hey, anyone know how would i add a background image to the footer that is 100% of the width of the page, not just 100% of the centerbox?
So the image runs along the bottonm of the page full width?
