Unable to download product after payment received

I have not upgraded to the new version. After installing ZEN Cart and setting up all my product attributes for downloads I cannot download the document after paying for it. I get the checkout success message and page but I don't see anything on the page that would allow me to download the document. I have the system set to download by redirect. I have changed the permissions on my public folders which carry the pdf documents to 777. I think I have a problem with the product file name I have assigned to each product since it has a red dot saying "missing file name". What is the correct file format to use? I have tried different file name combinations with no avail. Can someone please help me clear this up. My e-mail is [email protected]. Thank you.

Look at the Order in your Zen Cart Admin ... what is the Order Status?

What happens if you change it to: Processing or Delivered?

Do you see the Attribute on the Product of the order?

On the filename, it works best to Zip the file and then name it without spaces, special characters and just just letters and numbers ...

If you see a red dot next to the filename on the Attribute then your file is not being found ...

Either it is not there or there is a typo or an error in your /includes/configure.php and/or /admin/includes/configure.php file ...

I looked at the record and it showed pending. Even if the order is free it shows pending. I do have green dot by the file name meaning the file is accessible. I am using PDF file format. I have ZEN cart set up to Redirect. I have taken care of setting up file permissions to the correct levels for the public file (755) and for the individual downloadable files (644). Some one at Hostgator said I should see a download button on the order success page, is this true?

By default, if the Order Status is >= 2 or <= 4 (Processing, Delivered or Updated) you will see the Download button on the checkout_success or in the Account History ...

You can control the Orders Status on the Payment Module in the Modules ... Payment ... and set what you want the Order Status to be on a per module basis ...

When I change the order status to delivered I can download the document from the Order Information detail in My Account section. But, that means I would have to be watching the orders and manually change them to delivered. Can I set up Zen Cart to do this automatically?

Edit the Payment Module(s) that you want immediate access to Downloads and change the Orders Status to either:
Processing (orders_status 2)
Delivered (orders_status 3)

and the Download will be immediately available ...

If you offered Check/Money Order, you would want to set it to:
Pending (orders_status 1)

so that you have to approve the Download as "the check is in the mail" ...

I have a question similiar to this topic, how do I set order status to completed if ALL of the items purchased are downloadable items, but to pending IF any of the products are NOT downloadable?

This loops should be executed when a transaction has successfully cleared linkpoint or paypal.

I have absoluely no idea which variables to set or how to update the SQL database with Zencart. I can do script with other programs, but Zen Cart is rather code heavy and you have to figure where all the strings lead too first.

I would have to sit down and customize the code to manage this for handling downloads vs products and the combinations so that the orders_status is different for one or the other ...

You might post in the Commercial Help Wanted on this to customize the code as it is not a simple task to manage single and multiple downloads with downloads with products etc.
