suddenly getting "security error when trying to log in"

This is really strange. I have created an account for myself on my online store and have been able to log in to it for a week now and all of the sudden now i can't. It displays the message "There was a security error when trying to log in". Why is this happening and how can i fix it. I haven't changed anything on the site!!!

I have read that SSL can be a nuissance with this stuff.. if SSL is the culprit.. where do I go to enable or disable it?
