Customizing the Product Page into a "Wizard"

Hello,
We are developing a product wizard that will allow customers to apply product attributes in a step-by-step (page by page) 'wizard'. Our product can have up to 25 different attributes and splitting the process up into steps makes sense from a user perspective.

We want to use zen cart to handle the data/checkout/processing. My question is...

Does the override system support this type of approach to selecting a product and applying attributes? I see alot of info about how to customize the one product page, but what if I want to split that product page into three separate steps/pages?

If ZC does support it, then how do I go about doing this?

Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Customizing the Product Page into a "Wizard"

Zen Cart doesn't "support" splitting the product info page into three pages, but it is pretty much infinitely customizable if you have the PHP skill. The override system would help here. You might want to create a new "product type" by cloning and extending one of the existing types (see the "Product Type Book by Moku" thread for an example).

You might want to use some sort of javascript to handle the multiple options, and Chrome's Dynamic Price Updater might be relevant to your work.

Thank you Glenn, those are helpful suggestions to get us started in developing the template. I'll take a look at the resources you mentioned.

I appreciate it,
