Need to apply 2 differents shipping methods based on product

Hi,

I am working on an online bicycle store and I am having a really hard time implementing shipping rates:

The actual bikes need to be sent by train, with a flat rate based on destination. So I installed the Zone and Item Flat Rate module.

All the rest of the items (accessories, parts, tools, etc) need to be shippined via Canada Post, so this module is also installed.

Where do I specify, in my items of categories, what shipping method to install ? I'm thinking I will need detailed instructions here....

Thank you in advance !

You will need to have your shipping customized as there is nothing built in to control shipping methods based on the shopping cart content ...

Thank you for your answer.

Just to be sure here, you mean that I cannot specify the shipping method per product, and that I would need to customized php files directly to make it work ?

It is my understanding that I will have problems upgrading if I do this, am I right ?

Will this be part of the 2.0 upgrade ?

No, this is not part of the v2.0 process ...

You will need to customize v2.0 but that is still a long ways away from being ready for a Live Site ... we still need to get the beta version on there and tested ...
