Sale where discount increases with total of order

Hi,

I'd like to offer a sale where I can give a higher discount for larger orders - for example, 5% for orders over $30, 10% for orders over $50 and 15% for orders over $80. I can't see how to do this in either Salemaker or as a coupon.

Is this possible and if so, can anyone tell me how to do it?

Thanks in advance,

The Quantity Discounts contribution does this. It's in the Free Software Add Ons.

Re: Sale where discount increases with total of order

I do that by just using the coupons. The customers would have to enter the coupon code to apply the discount though. Just put 5% in the coupon amount box and 30 in the minimum order box etc.

Many thanks for your responses. Xandros - if I understand correctly, to set up the example I mentioned, I would do three coupons - one for 5% one for 10% and one for 15%?

Swguy - thanks for that - I am not a techie at all and I've used an installation of Zencart that my hosting company provide, so I've no idea how to upload any addons (sad, I know!).

Learning how to install changes isn't hard and is an important skill - mods are installed the same way security patches are, and you really must know how to do that (or be willing to hire it done).

Here is a step by step breakdown of how to install Quantity Discounts (or any other of my mods):

Yes exactly. You will see in the coupon maker that you can set up minimums for the coupons to qualify. The customers would need to enter the coupon code that you choose for each of those discounts in the coupon box when checking out. So you will need to let your customers know the codes through email and/or posting it on the site. There may be a better way of doing this but, that is what I used for a bulk order sale I just had and it worked for me. I may try that quantity discounts add on the next time I do the sale though.
