Can Zen Cart create paid membership sites?

I was wondering can Zen Cart create paid membership sites? so all the files on my site can only be downloaded by members that sign up through a shopping cart? If so how do you set it up?:lamo:

Are you trying to make it so that you have a website of Downloads and the Membership ...

Customers come in and see the whole site but only the Membership is available to buy ...

Once the Membership has been purchased, now all other products are available to the customer ...

If so, this feature is not built into Zen Cart, however, it could be done with some custom coding based on the Customer Authorization and some other customization of the code to manage when a customer can or cannot buy memberships or all products ...

Things to think about:

Do the memberships expire?

Do the memberships offer discounts? Or just the ability to buy Products or add Free Products to the shopping cart?

Is there only one kind of membership? Or are you trying to make levels of Membership and if so, how do those levels differ?

I am thinking of downloading the one time membership charge mod and trying to tweak it to allow membersihps to expire after a set number of days.

Has anyone already done this? I'd hate to re-invent the wheel.

Do you(anyone) think that's a good place to start?
