zen cart does not see my logo image

I am using zen cart version 1.3.8a with no addins.
It is running on my local Abyss server for web site development.
I have created a custom template. I am using the default template style sheet with changes.
I have edited the includes/languages/ENGLISH/header.php file to change the logo file name and saved it to includes/languages/ENGLISH/mytemplate/header.php

I have copied my logo image to includes/templates/mytemplate/images/ directory. when I access the web site the logo does not appear just the red x and alt text. looking at the html source for the logo image it is src="includes/templates/template_default/images/logo.jpg" it points to template_default not mytemplate. if i copy the logo to the default template image folder the image displays fine. i also have a second logo image that works fine and the html code points to mytemplate as it should. Can anyone help me with this. i have tried clearing the temp data in my browser but no change.

Re: zen cart does not see my logo image

I have found a solution to this problem. Looking at my image file properties i noticed that the extension was "JPG". For some reason zen cart did not recognize the capitalized extension. To fix i went into Configuration/MyStore/MaximumVales and added "JPG" to "Allowed File Name Extensions For Uploading". After i did that the logo image displays fine. This seems like a bug to me you would think zen cart could handle any variation of lower and upper case.

Re: zen cart does not see my logo image

Webservers are often very sensitive to upper/lower case in filenames.

It's not a Zen Cart limitation ... it's the nature of the webserver you're using.

So ... the rule is ... if you're using lowercase to name the file in one place, use lowercase when you reference it in other places too.

Re: zen cart does not see my logo image

Thanks. That's a good rule. It looks like Abyss is case sensitive. I wonder why adding the caps JPG extension in ZC fixed the problem. The image editor i used automatically appended the caps JPG extension so i was unaware of it until i looked at the properties. I will have to type in the extension when i save the file to make sure it is lower case. hope this helps other newbies who run into the same problem.
