side box banners

I am slowly getting the hang of this but its slow going.

I have google ads showing twice but I only have one banner installed. Why is my google ads showing in two places?
How do I move the ad to a different place on the site.
How do I add another google ad at the bottom footer position?
I followed the instructions in the zen cart book but it dont seem to work and I cant add anything else.

It would appear that you could just disable one of the sideboxes in Tools>Layout Boxes Controller, then only one sidebox (with the Google ads) would be visible.
