two stores - one paypal account - works fine BUT

So,

I am just preparing to launch my second store which will be a mirror of the first store but in a different language. the database for the second store was copied from the first store, if this makes any difference.

I was just testing the payments on the second store and all went fine except one thing. if the oreder #3 on the first store was paid with paypal and the order #3 on the second store is paid with paypal , in the second store in th eorder details I get the info of the customer that paid order#3 on the first store.

I exported the database of store number two and searched for that info but couldn't find any reference so I'm guessing this comes directly from paypal.

If anyone has encountered this problem I would appreciate any help.

Unless both stores are sharing the same domain name, there should be no clash.

And, if you use Express Checkout, you'll have even less likelihood of clashes.

they are on different domains.

to be more clear:

on the order screen everything is fine except the info on that gray bar (the one that has first name, last name etc on the left and the order refunds form on the right) - that bar shows the info of th eclient from the other store!

Ah, okay ... well thankfully that's only a display issue then.

However, it's very odd that "order #3" would clash with "order #3" specifically ... because PayPal never knows the actual order number from your store, because that number is officially assigned AFTER the payment is completed.

Which payment modules are you using on each site?

Re: two stores - one paypal account - works fine BUT

thank you very much for your replies, Dr Byte

I am using PayPal Website Payments Pro and Paypal Express checkout on both websites + COD on both. The issue doesn't occur if order #3 on the first website wasn't paid with paypal

Re: two stores - one paypal account - works fine BUT

I would expect that gray data section to show data based on the details of the PayPal transaction after looking it up using the PayPal transaction ID number ... which would be unique per store.

I would expect the same. That should be data returned by paypal after the transaction so I don't understend why it displays data from a transaction performed on the other store a year ago.

I'm guessing there is a link there.

On the NEW store's database, I recommend going into phpMyAdmin and clicking on the table named "paypal", then on the "Empty" button.
Do the same for the "paypal_payment_status_history" table, and the "paypal_sessions" table.

(DO NOT touch the "paypal_payment_status" table).

I guess it makes sense. Probably it retrieves that info based on a session id or something that is already in the database.
I tried that and it worked.

Thanks!I owe you a beer:) Saved me from going nuts.

Re: two stores - one paypal account - works fine BUT

I was about to ask a related question to this.

I use one site with SSL and paypal pro (uk) and another with no SSL and paypal express - one paypal account.

If i get an SSL for the 2nd site can i then use the single paypal pro account for both sites?

I assume this is what the opening post refers to and it works fine?
