Specials to Product, but attributes affected - Help Needed

Hi Fellow Zen-ers,

I'm running an online fruit juice store (https://www.bakezandblenz.com) and I'm having a problem with my specials that affects my attributes prices.

In my scenerio, let's say APPLE JUICE is selling at $1.50 per cup, and attribute with NO ICE is additonal $1.00 per cup (+ $1.00 to PRICE attribute).

However, when I use the SPECIALS to sell the juice at $1.00 per cup (or discount of 33%), my attribute to NO ICE is affected and is reduced to $0.67 per cup, which I do not want this to happen.

I've tried to use the attribute of ONE TIME for S$1.00 instead, it works well if customer only orders 1-qty of the APPLE JUICE. Problem comes in again when customer orders more than 1-cup of the juice (e.g. 3-cups), the additional charges only shown as $1.00 (which should be S$3.00 in this case).

Please kindly advice how I should go about to solve this tacky issue? I'm not that sure what does the PRICE FACTOR, OFFSET and ONE-TIME FACTOR, OFFSET do in this case.

on your attributes controller page, there is a pair of radio buttons in the bright colored section labelled
Apply Discounts Used
by Product Special/Sale: No / Yes
That radio selection is defaulted to Yes in a standard zencart installation. You can change the default to No by going to Admin > Catalog > Product Types and EDIT LAYOUT for the product-general product type. 5th entry from the bottom is the switch for PRODUCT Attribute is Discounted - Default

I fixed it. Even though i changed the general setting, for the products all ready set, they kept the old setting, so i have to change them all individually - oh joy! Bu at least it is a solution!:clap:

Thanks for the update that you solved this and for noting that while there is a Global default setting, it does not change the "existing" Products set to the other setting ... :smile:
