Help needed - help on ways to increase zen website performance

Hello,

Are there some simple ways to increase my zen carts performance?

I read somewhere if i turn off the who's online box this helps, is this correct? Is there somewhere in admin config also to turn it off completely?

I have a performance module installed and this helps.

I only have around 1000 products listed.

Are there anymore little tweeks i can do?

You can turn off Who's Online (and should, IMO) in Admin - Tools - Layout Boxes Controller, but I doubt if it will have much effect on your page load speed (which I assume you mean when you say 'performance').

One thousand products shouldn't slow things down - 1000 categories, yes.

In your case, its probably your images thaqt are slowing things down - they're too big (file size, not dimensions) by a factor of 10X or so, and you have a lot of them on each page.
