Remove EXPRESS CHECKOUT option from login page?

Hi there,

I've got my ZenCart working almost exactly how I want, but there's one thing that bugs me.

When there is a product(s) in the customer's shopping cart, but they are not logged in, they are prompted to create an account, or login. This happens during checkout as well as when they're trying to do something that requires the customer to be logged in.

They see this page:

(this page is only displayed if they have something in their shopping cart.)

How can I remove the "Paypal Express Checkout Option" box from this page?

The Terms of Service in your agreement with PayPal indicate that the Express Checkout button must be offered on the screen where one can login and where one can commence checkout. That's why it's there.

This is really annoying!

First off the wording is misleading

"Have a PayPal account? Want to pay quickly with a credit card? Use the PayPal button below to use the Express Checkout option"

customers can mistake that thinking payments can only be made by paypal account holders. Its bad enough already the the people who dont hold paypal accounts have a very tiny "Don't have a paypal account" link on the payments page!

Also if this method is selected im presuming the customer cannot add delivery options special instructions? I dont mind having this big paypal button at the end of the checkout once all the information i need has been filled out!

Anyone any ideas? or am i barking up the wrong tree? :blink:

You are free to change the wording of that message.

It's not only annoying, but if a client use PPEC he doesn't complete his personal data. He has no obligation to give his VAT number of CF (italian code), and it's a real problem as you have to ask him for these after the order is completed.

all that you can do here is to complain to paypal,

the fact that it makes it appear that you ONLY take paypal is their intent... they want their name out there first,
its good business for them, sux for US though

Other things that we can do is to advise our customers and invite them to use regoular registration form.

If I wanted to redesign the login page to look exactly as it did before I installed Paypal. Eg. Returning Users, followed by Register for new users form AND then I will be happy to leave the logon to paypal all the way at the bottom of the page BUT I do not even know where to start on this. Can anyone help ?

OK. That didnt take long. I removed the checkout express and installed Paypal IPN. AND it is working exactly as I imagined it. The user now goes through all the same steps as before the paypal module was installed except there is a paypal option next to all my other payment options.
