I messed up: Fatal Error! Please help

LOL, my first post.

I was reading theFAQ on changing the: How do I change the "Congratulations! you have successfully installed..." Message? and apparently I accidentally saved over the original index.php (includes/languages/ENGLISH/index.php) file as well as created a file in: includes/languages/ENGLISH/CUSTOM/index.php.

Now of course any one here knows that now I get the dreaded:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function zen_check_url_get_terms() in /home/jody/public_html/index.php on line 30

So here's what I have done so far, but unfortunately to no avail. I've uploaded via FTP a clean version of the index.php to includes/languages/ENGLISH/index.php and deleted this one: includes/languages/ENGLISH/CUSTOM/index.php

I still get the same fatal error. My version is in the signature. Any help would be appreciated before I resort to another clean install and after so much work. I guess that's what I get for not being super careful and watching what I was doing:oops:

OK. Well first thing to do is to not panic!

Do you have ftp access? If so back up all the custom folders you have created straight away. The beauty of the override systen is that you haven't lost all that work.

Then log in to your admin and make a note (or screenshot) of as many of the settings as you can (ie the ones you have changed)

So, you should have saved any work you have done.

Then sit back and have a think.

What it looks like you have done is save the index.php file that should be in the language folder into the root directory.

So, once you have backed up what you can. Upload a new version of the default index.php that should be in the root, to the root folder.

Attached is a screenshot that might explain better.

File structure is visible on the left. The index.php file that I think you have overwritten is open in the right window.

You need to replace this with the default version. (The start of the default version is visible in the screenshot so you can check if yours matches.)

Finally,(for the time being - it is bed time in the UK) I have attached the default version of the index.php file that should sit in the root directory of your shop.

I believe this is the one that you have overwritten:smile:
