Hosting company says my site uses too much resources

Hi everyone,

I have setup a new online-shop - https://www.kizlyarextreme.ru and today my hoster warned me that the site uses too much resources.

The control panel says it uses:
Input-output operations for last 7 days
530000 out of 400000

They say I need this fixed quickly or the website will be blocked.

My shop does not have any software downloads, just simple cart system.

What might be the issue and how can this be fixed?

Are you talking about Bandwith? If this is the case you would need to upgrade your hosting plan as you might have lots of visitors using up all your bandwith (which is great) but you might need to go on a new server

Or Size or Data Base?

The host just told me that by these resources they mean:

The Quantity of Read/Write Operations

and that last 7 days my lovely ZenCart shop did
530000 out of 400000 of these operations.

Besides normal 138 ZenCart kit I have ImageHandler and a custom template.

Is there something I can do to find out the cause of the issue and its solution?

not really sure what the Quantity of Read/Write Operations is??

How long has your site been up for? Do you get LOTS of traffic a day? how many?

Hope someone else could share some info on the Quantity of Read/Write Operations... as i would just thing that it would be a Bandwith or DB size issue..

I have done what Melanie recommended, it significanlty reduced the queries, hopefully this will help to bring the load down.

The host counts the resource usage for 7 days period so I will need to wait to see the statistics dynamics after new changes.

You also need to cleanup the errors in the template. The smoother the code....

Hmm, although the queries have been significantly reduced (thanks to Melanie's tip) the host's Read/Write operations statistics for my account still increased from 530 000 to 709 306 for last two days.

May be the problem is something else?

I really need to get this solved before my site is closed. The limit is 400 000 for 7days.

The hoster is RBC - https://www.hc.ru - the service and everything are very good, but this issue..

Zen cart version 1.x has always had a problem with a huge number of database queries. In numerous other posts you will see this point raised and it has been suggested that the version 2 should address this.

On the other hand, that was promised within a number of weeks at the beginning of the year.

Even so, the numbers you report are incredibly high.

I'm am currently with 1and1. And was thinking about setting up the zencart there. Is there a known issue with 1and1 and zencart?

There is a known issue with 1and1 advising customers, running any sort of shopping cart or dynamic php based site, that they are using up too many resources.
