different products for different languages

Admittedly, Im not sure exactly how to pose the question, but I am going ot be going live with a site that caters to different languages, mostly the major European and US ones such as german, italian, dutch, english, etc.

Im wondering if there is a way to only show certain products in certain languages. For example, if a product has german writing on it, I would not want to show it to the english speaking customers. Instead I would want to show the same product with the english words on it. Im talking about the words being right on the product itself, not as a description of the item below the image.

If I understand the question, that's exactly what language packs are for.

Well that begs another question. I thought the language packs simply change the site over to another language.

For example, if Im selling items A, B and C in english, I thought the German language pack would allow me to run the system just like I did in English, but now in German to sell items A, B and C.

Really, what I want to do, is only show items A and B (But NOT C) when the site is visitied by someone viewing in English and only C (but NOT A and B) when in German.

Anyone?

Yes, thats the question, in Germany, I only want to show products A and B but here in the US I want to show items C and D.

I would like the language someone chooses to be the driver as to which products are seen.
