Cant´t get past save database settings during install

Hi,

I am trying to install Zen Cart on my MacBook Pro but it fails, I cant get past the save database settings. After clicking on save database setting receive a blank page saying lost database connection in Safari.

I have the latest patches on from Apple installed and the latest MySQL.

Today i am running OSCommerce flawlessly and really want to try Zen Chart.

Is there anyone that might have an idea on what it can be?

Re: Cant´t get past save database settings during install

I would start with using something like mysql administrator (free download from mysql.com) to make sure you can access the database at all and that you have the correct user/pass and port settings. If you can connect and query the database through that with no problem, then you know the problem is with your zencart setup and not the database.

As an aside, I would really recommend using MAMP to run a local server instead of installing all the components separately. It makes setting up and configuring those things much simpler.
