Free item with orders over $100

Hi,

I'm trying to set up a sale so a particular $30 item is free whenever an order of over $100 is purchased.

I.e. the customer adds the item to his/her cart, then when the total of the other items in the order reaches $100, a $30 discount would be applied to that item.

If this isn't possible, could I create a separate free item which can only be added to the cart if the order total is >$100?

Hmm Dangling Carrot isn't working, apparently it's had a bug for a while.

Any other way of doing the same thing?
