Orders through authorize.net do not display after moving site to another server

I just moved to a different server. The only change made was a new dedicated IP address.

Since the move, credit card payments which go through authorize.net AIM, do not display in the Customer Order module.
PayPal payments do show fine.
The credit card payments do show on authorize.net as a successfully completed transaction.

Re: Orders through authorize.net do not display after moving site to another server

When you do a test transaction, what happens in your browser after you click confirm on the 3rd page of checkout? It should normally take you to a checkout-success page after charging your card, send you a confirmation email, and show you the order number. What happens for you?

Also, when you click the "Reply" button below, there are several questions in the "Posting Tips" section of the page where you type the reply ... please answer those questions in your reply.

Re: Orders through authorize.net do not display after moving site to another server

  • What version of Zen Cart are you using? 1.3.7.1
    • Has your site been upgraded? When? From what version(s)? Not that I know of
    • What addons have you installed? When? None
    • In what ways is your site customized or different from a brand new uncustomized install? Styling
    • If you're encountering display/layout problems, post your site URL* so it can be seen in action. None
    • If you're encountering problems that could be related to your server or hosting company, include the name of your hosting company (not their URL). theglasshosting.com
    • HAVE YOU LOOKED IN THE FAQ AREA for answers to your question? (ie: a search for your error message or what you want to edit/change, etc) Yes
    • Have you searched the FORUM for your error message or for answers to the question you're asking? Yes
    • WHEN did the problem "start"? How does that compare with other events of your hosting company, changes you've made to your site files/addons, or your admin settings, etc? Started after switching hosts.
    • If this is your first store, have you tested all aspects of transactions before going live?

I am getting logged off when I do a test transaction and clicking "Submit the order" with a credit card whether the authorize.net module is set to test or production and using the test credit card number provided.

What is your site URL?
What is the SSL URL?
Does your server support CURL and OpenSSL?

Can you explain more what you mean by "getting logged off"?

If you set it to Production mode and use a real credit card number, does that make any difference vs using "test" numbers?

When you moved to the new server, how was it done? Were these steps followed? https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/index.php?article=100 If not, which ones were skipped and why?

Re: Orders through authorize.net do not display after moving site to another server

By "getting logged off" I mean after I click Submit this order, a page comes up and says "Your session has expired." There is nothing about your order has been successfully submitted. To be honest, I don't know if this is happening with regular customers or not.

I did not try with a real credit card number. I am assuming that it does work, because authorize.net does show that the credit card is being charged. ZenCart does not show any order placed at all.

To transfer to the new server, I did a cPanel backup of the home directory and had it restored on the new server. I then had to have a new dedicated IP address assigned in order for SSL to work.

Did I follow the instructions in article 100? No. Why not? Do you really want to know? The reason is the same as I don't stop to ask for directions when I get lost. Seriously, I didn't realize that special instructions had to be followed as the domain name and paths are the same. The only difference is the dedicated IP.

Re: Orders through authorize.net do not display after moving site to another server

I'm wondering if it's losing the session as a result of something amiss in the SSL configuration.

Perhaps you can set the ENABLE_SSL to 'false' in your /includes/configure.php file temporarily, do a test transaction using a test credit card number (but leave things in "production" mode), and then see what happens. Be sure to put ENABLE_SSL back to 'true' again when done.

Re: Orders through authorize.net do not display after moving site to another server

Setting ENABLE_SSL to 'false' didn't make any difference.

It is when I click on "Confirm the order" that I get logged off.

I don't know if this is indicative of anything, I did install a test board and I don't get logged off when going through the demo products, but then this isn't set up for credit cards either. Next step is to hook it up to the production database and see what happens.

You could also enable the AIM module in your test site, leave it in test mode, and do a test transaction, and see what happens.

Re: Orders through authorize.net do not display after moving site to another server

I did say I was using AIM, didn't I? I am actually using SIM.

I tried your suggestion and it didn't work.
I got Error 13, invalid login id and/or password or something to that effect. I was in test mode and I used the default values that ZenCart has, login ID of testing and transaction key of TEST and it goes to https://secure.authorize.net/gateway/transact.dll

I then tried the login id and transaction key from the production site. It went through, but I got brought back to a page on the production site with "Session expired" and with the login box.

It does seem, like you say, that it is losing the session as a result of something amiss in the SSL configuration.

Re: Orders through authorize.net do not display after moving site to another server

Wait....if I disabled SSL and still have the same problem, then SSL can't be the problem. Something else is causing the session to be lost.

Re: Orders through authorize.net do not display after moving site to another server

I did not sign up for an account, so I got > (TESTMODE) The merchant login ID or password is invalid or the account is inactive. - Your credit card could not be authorized for this reason. Please correct any information and try again or contact us for further assistance.
I was still logged in.

If you don't configure the AIM settings in your Zen Cart admin, then ... you can't use it to process payments. Follow the FAQ article I posted to set it up.

Re: Orders through authorize.net do not display after moving site to another server

The module did say, "Not configured." How do I configure it? I have to sign up for an AIM account with authorize.net? This doesn't seem reasonable just to run a test.

Anyway, the problem is solved. It was due to ZenCart and suhosin not playing nicely. See http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?p=671503

Thank you very much for your help.

Glad you got your server configuration problems sorted out.
