coupon code for new customers

I am looking for a way to add a coupon code to the confirmation email that new customers receive. How would I go about doing that?

  1. Create the coupon.
  2. Then, in the Admin->Configuration->GV/Coupons->New Signup Discount Coupon ID#, choose the coupon you want sent with every subsequent welcome email.
