Spider visits in counter history

Zen 1.3.8

Looked in FAQ without effect.

Is it possible to set the counter history so that it does not count spider visits?

I used this code already and it doesn't seem to make any difference. Changes in Red.

I made this counter history code change in (changes in red)

/includes/application_top.php

/**

  • load the counter code
    **/
    if ($spider_flag == false) {
    // counter and counter history
    require(DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'counter.php');
    }

Yes, that code doesn't make any difference. The counter definitely still counts the spiders. I just watched it happen in the tools/Who's on line.
