Product combining with different attributes

This is my problem that a customer brought to my attention today-

I sell baseball bats with varying selectable attributes (some required) such as species, length, cupping, and personalization with font choice and text.

My customer is trying to purchase an item with the same species, length, and cupping option but changing the personalization font and text. When he adds the new selection to his cart it simply overrides the previous purchase adding the new text selection and changes the quantity to two. It will not recognize the attribute change and add it to the cart as another bat purchase.

I have searched everywhere trying to find out how to make each bat add to the cart individually and not combine but I can't figure out how to do it. I am at a loss and am hoping someone out there can help point me in a direction.
