Footer question, can't find anywhere in search!!

Guys! Help!

I found where to go to change the "copyright", I am leaving the Powered by to ZenCart to help promote this great community. What I managed to do was read somewhere to change the Zen Cart name by the Copyright to a different name. Now, I cannot find where I went to make the changes!!

I found the file in define_main.php but I looked on line 16 and I don't see the name that I have at the bottom??? I does go to the link of my site and all that but I need to use the "backspace" key to make a minor Spelling error.

I am wondering, can a person change something in the Admin?? I am getting Alzheimers!! NO SERIOUSLY LOL:shocking:

So, I have been in /lang/english or whatever and define_main.php and it's not there.

Simply put haha, I need to change the words to the right of copyright at the very bottom of the zencart template, how's that, cuz, I am so new I cannot even believe I've dived into doing this programming stuff!:lamo:

For some reason, I don't see my last input of my stores name. But, it is showing up at the bottom of the footer and when you click on the text link, it goes to my home page?

I tried using FireFox Webdeveloper, but I do not know what feature to choose to see the location of the Footer link.

What or where is this local of the file?...anyone! Thanks in advance...:unsure:

WOW! 5 hours later maybe 6! Finally figured it out. Had to go into the Admin>Config>My Store........... the rest well.

I am sure there is some code I could input in that line 16 in includes/lang/english.php though. I managed to put an older year if I wanted to, but when I tried to put my store name and link, my website would not load, just a white screen, and it only came back when I changed the code back!! So, this is a bit out of my league.

Found the templates page, some nice work done by people! Keep it up, this program is great to work with and I learned some php although I don't understand the TREE, but would be nice to know of it and why it is programmed in the steps that it is.

Just like accounting I guess programming you have to not miss a beat of it throws the whole thing a mess, kinda like a bunch of cables being tangled up!:smile::smile::smile::smile:

php is very fussy - particularly in HOW it is edited and WHAT you use to edit it.

There is LOTS of help and advice in the FAQ/Tutorials. You'd do well to go through this.

Once you know the basic "rules", doing basic editing in the code is quick and relatively easy.

I read on the FAQs that to change the footer I need to just use the english.php file, make the changes, and save a new copy of it in includes/language/CUSTOM. I've done that but nothing changes. If I change the original english.php file then my site loads just a blank white screen. What am I doing wrong?

Ok Kristina I will try to get you through this, this is all new to me, but this forum has some great people here and I too will hopefully be one to help, as I try to get to the point without making people guess at where to go, BUT I am still new...

I went into the ZenCart's Admin>config>My Store and put the name in there where it asks for your store name: address etc, and in the Footer it will put your store name in.

Then I went into /languages/Custom/english.php and deleted out the Zen Cart link and where it says >Zen Cart< I typed my ficticious store name, or you can just leave it too.
