"Larger Image" rendering question!

Is it common for the "larger image" to begin rendering off to the left in a small window and then pop- up to the larger window after a second or two in the center of my screen? If not please let me know- I have provided a link below.

Yes. But not in all browsers.

Re: "Larger Image" rendering question!

Thanks for the response! Wanted to make sure it just wasn't my site.

I have looked at it in Firefox 3.0.13, Opera v9.64, Safari v4, and Explorer v7- same thing.

Thoughts:
I am assuming that it has to do with the way the script is written to check for additional images and sizes of those images- whether medium or large.

I wonder if I were to only use one size (large) image for the "Larger Image" if the code could be modified to know what size window to open every time. Then maybe getting rid of the double window render issue.

May not be an issue for most people. Just a thought.

Re: "Larger Image" rendering question!

This has nothing to do with zencart or the way it's coded. It's a browser issue. If large images seem to be taking a long time to load in the popup, then your file-size may be excessive. Either reduce the file-size of your larger images, or install image handler 2. The latter optimizes images and their file-size.

Re: "Larger Image" rendering question!

The file size is not the issue- it loads similar to the link below at one of your sites- which also starts off in a small window to the left then loads in the center of the screen.

http://www.sa-shop.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=24_33&products_id=353

If that is just how it is suppose to be- I'm fine with that!

I wasn't trying to imply that there was a problem with the coding as much as asking if that is how a "larger Image" begins to load- by a small window off to the left of the main window then popping into the center of the screen a moment later.

I had some colleagues checking out my site and they both (individually) brought it to my attention recently. As mentioned before various browsers where being used to test it.

Just trying better understand how it all works.
