Z.C Installation ok on localhost but not on web server

Hello to All,

Dumb question from a newbie, forgive me please:

I managed to install Zen Cart v. 1.3.8 on my localhost with no problem. Unfortunately, following the same installation steps with my web server, I always get the " Error 404 Page cannot be found. "

It was the exact same experience with Prestashop (another open source e-commerce software).

I am starting to wonder: is my web host company responsible ?
Did I miss something ?

Thanks very much for your help,

Kami

Not a dumb question at all.

If you use your FTP program to look at your remote site files, is Zencart installed to the root (top directory) or in a subdirectory?

Who is your host?

Originally, it was in a directory I created, called zencart.
