How many customers?

Hello Everyone,

Just a simple hypothetical question, but I can't find any info on it:
How many customers can a ZenCart store/database reasonably handle? I mean, if you store turns into the next "Amazon" (yeah yeah! I wish that for everyone here), is it all good? Let's pick a nice big number for me, not Amazon but say 50,000, still good? Is anyone running stores using Zen Cart with a huge customer base as an example?

Very few, if any, here have reached 50K customers, so most of us can't answer your question through experience.

Technically, the number of customers (or sales) is more limited by your server than by Zencart.

I hope you reach 50K customers+. I kind of figured a lot of it would have to do with the server. One reason I asked this is I read somewhere on a review about ZenCart is there was some slowing involved (with newsletters/mailing?) when the customer base was up in the 1000's, didn't make much sense to me but made me start to wonder.
