Featured product won't show on main page

I hope somebody will be able to help me.
I got 4 products already set up as Featured. On the sidebar, featured items are showing up, but not on the main page. In Conf->Index->I got it set up as 1 choice. Believe me, I have try everything to my knowledge but to no avail. It's just blank. I am begining to think it might be a bug.

And the date range for your Featured Products includes the current date?

If you have a custom template installed, what happens when you temporarily swuitch back to 'Classic'?

The date is set from 2 weeks ago to the end of the year.
it doesn't matter when I change the template, still the same thing. Lets say for example, when in Classic I see the Featured products in black letter and empty bellow, with any other template completely blank. I don't think the template is causing the problem.
