Force amount purchased by attribute

Hi,

is there a way to force a certain amount purchased with the attributes.

for example we have a store that sells decals and we want the minimum purchase to be 249 at one price each. then to 499 is another price each.

it is a Zen Cart v1.3.8a/v1.3.8

Thanks in advance for the help.

Re: Force amount purchased by attribute

Do you allow purchase of amounts between your advertised volumes or not?
If not you can add each specific volume as an attribute

Re: Force amount purchased by attribute

My question:
You offer 125, 250, 500...

What if one wants 200?
Do you allow this or force only your stated increments?

if the amount is within the range they can purchase whatever quantity they want. the amounts on top of the chart determine the amounts and the price breaks associated with them. if they go over 5,000 we want them to call.

so if they want 125 - 249 its one price but they can buy 255 and get the lower price.

thanks again.

Re: Force amount purchased by attribute

OK....So you need to alter the quantity discount table and change it from 125-249 and make it 0-249
As you already have your min set to 125 any qty less than that will error

great. last question (I think)

look here:

http://www.monarchdecals.com/pricelisttest.gif

see that there are minums for each size starting with the 8 1/4 which is 4 min.

so in using your suggestion I can do the 4 but what about the price?

they need to be able to select the size and then the size they select determines the minimum and the price along with a price break for the larger amounts.

I really appreciate all this help with this. Thank you.

I do not see "4 min" in the pic of the table you provided
Try adding as best you can and provide a link to the site page with what is mis-behaving

on the second row of the image it has the 4 above it.

the page is not misbehaving yet as I cant figure out how to configure it for this pricing.

It is a bit confusing as the first minimum starts on the second row. this is because the pricing is by size first.

crazy right?

Re: Force amount purchased by attribute

Should be able to NOT enter a price when entering the product and selecting "priced by attributes" then in your attributes you specify the price

Make each size a seperate product

can you make each size a separate product within the main product?

Re: Force amount purchased by attribute

Ok. I am going to try to explain what I need but please know that I am new to zen cart and need some expert help.

To review. I am doing a zen cart for a company that sells decals.

They have a very different way of pricing things and here is how they do it.

http://www.monarchdecals.com/pricelisttest.gif

What I need is a way to have the customer choose a size.

Then based on that size choose a quantity.

But that quantity is only used with that particular size and is based on price.

So for example. Lets say they want an 8 ¼ x 12 ½ decal. If they want they can purchase 4 or more. But that pricing starts at 52.25 each and has a 4 minimum.

Then they go up the chart from the bottom up as you can see in the image.

So if you look at the chart you will notice two different prices for 8 ½ x 12 ½.

So I tried everything people said to no avail.

If it can not be done I am wondering if I can create two different pricing attribute groups within one product?

thanks.

What you are describing is termed "dependant attributes"...
ZenCart does not have support for dependant attributes
The reason I suggested you create individual products for each type

Re: Force amount purchased by attribute

I think we figured out a solution. to just have them call for price.

now my problem is when they go to checkout they see this for example.

Your Total

Sub-Total: $45.00

Flat Rate (Best Way):$5.00

:$3.15:

Total: $53.15

that weird :$3.15 can anyone tell me where that is coming from?

Thanks again.

I will attach a screen shot.
