I've played with tpl_product_info_display.php and have had no joy. I've removed all those divs to still see the blank box sat in place.
I will have to stick with losing the category icon code block as this is the only code that makes the blank box disappear. Not ideal as it does strip the heading ('Bikes') - but I can live with that.
