Table shipping rate per item

Latest version being used.

Has anyone done a shipping table per item? I need something along the lines of:

Item A: $10.00 for first and $3.00 for each additional
Item B: $5.00 for first and $2.00 for each additional

I would like to know the same thing. Anyone?

This would need to be customized to work on a per Product basis ...

Currently, Item Rate is based on a single cost per Product plus a handling charge which could work for a condition such as:
$10.00 for first and $3.00 for each additional

where the Rate is 3.00 and the Handling is 7.00 ...

But to make this work with different Rates and Handling per Product, you would need a customized shipping module and possibly an extra field or two for making this work ...
