How to quantity, size, stock?

Hi there, i just started adding product to my cart and have run into a problem...ive read alot of threads but most of them are old and some are 80 pges long. its getting very confusing. im new to all this..

so what i have is a size dropdown menu with small, medium, and large as values...but i need to input a quantity for each size..i'd appreciate any help thanks!

To the best of my knowledge, this is not supported by zencart. It is however planned for future releases.

A workaround is to manually remove a size/color when it is not longer available.

Input for stock reasons or for a customer to buy?

If for stock look in the add-ons for "stock by attricutes" module

i'd like it to display how many i have left in stock per size then say 'out of stock' or '0' when none are left. where do i find stock by attributes? do i have to install that module? thanks

i downloaded the zip file and transferred the files to my zencart admin>includeds>languages file (is that even the right place?) and then i ran the query in mysqldatabase as per the instructions in the readme file..

nothing is showing in my catalog menu...what am i doing wrong here?

okay as i read on i found there is an edit code i need to add, which i did, it show in my catalog but when i click its takes me nowhere...i'll keep fiddling

and same issues...so when i use filezilla to transfer the files which folders do i overwrite? there are so many admin and includes folders i dont have a clue..thanks

It is already setup to place them correctly and is a drag & drop action when your FTP has the correct top level as target

so what is the correct target? is it zencart>admin?

cuz i tried that and its still not showing up on my catalog...thanks tho

There are 2 folders for this module
admin
includes

unzipped and on your local you should see them as folders

on the remote panel connected to your host you should be where you can see both folders

Drag one folder to the panel space (NOT on top of any folder) and drop

Then the other in the same way

Just because you have added this, it does not automatically know what the stock for different attributes are.

Have you read the readme???

How to Use Stock by Attributes

To use, log into the admin area, click on Catalog->Products with Attributes Stock to modify inventory levels of your products by attributes. You will also want to consider the settings in Configuration->Stock. The settings here will determine things such as whether or not a customer will be allowed to checkout when insufficient stock is on hand. As well as controlling the new feature that allows you display the amount of stock available on the shopping cart page if a customer tries to buy more than the recorded stock.

firstly, thanks kobra for all your help...okay so the problem is i cant even see the 'product with attributes stock' heading in my catalog menu...

Check with ftp that all files are where they belong
Insure that you have applied the sql patch for this module

lol, you know, i decided to just delete it and reinstall..backed up all the important stuff and tried again...works perfect now thanks so much anyways!

I'm having the same issue...I installed the sql using MySql admin
Placed all the files where the are supposed to go and all I get is this (image attached). What step am I missing for show the items.

Any help would help so much!!
