Left Sidebox jumping to center & back

Newbie question

My left sideboxes are moving to the center of the screen and back to the correct position when moving from page to page and that has received the most complaints from customers in the first 7 days after going live.

At first, I thought that it might be a function of connection speed but at home my connection speed is 1.5MBps. At our office, we have 5MBps dsl where the jumping is significantly more annoying.

I don't think that I have made changes that would affect that; but then, I won't discount anything.

Ver 1.3.8a with all security updates.
mystik template
I don't remember installing any addons, yet.
I have changed page width.
I have searched sidebox threads.

Re: Left Sidebox jumping to center & back

That is due to a margin: auto; property in the stylesheet - when the center column has not yet loaded, the left column is the only content and the "auto" makes it center itself in the whole window.
Find this#navColumnOneWrapper, #navColumnTwoWrapper, #mainWrapper { margin: auto; }and separate out #navColumnOneWrapper```
#navColumnTwoWrapper, #mainWrapper {
margin: auto;
}
#navColumnOneWrapper {
margin: 0;
}

Re: Left Sidebox jumping to center & back

TNX for the reply.

No, it does not jump to the center when switched to the classic template.

At home now, no currently visible jumping with either template.
At work now (wife), classic does not jump, mystik does jump.

Both computers XPsp3/IE8

Re: Left Sidebox jumping to center & back

That was something that bugged me when I first started building my template (starting from the /template_default/ stylesheet) about four years ago. I found the margin: auto; by trial & error and found that eliminating it did the trick.
