Need Some Advice on Wholesale Store Concept

Hi,

Need some advice and or opinions about a zencart wholesale store that we are planning to put up.

We are currently accepting our orders via phone, fax, email and would like to have an alternative where our customers can go on the internet to PLACE an order.

The products we sell are very price sensitive in such that every customer usually have their own special pricing therefore having one price appear on the site would not be feasible

What we were thinking is just to have the items and info appear there and they would just essentially PLACE the order but the products would not have a price.

Wondering if anyone else is doing something like this with Zencart?

Thanks, we actually have this installed but it will only allow you to enter one whole price, as I said, if we have for instance 10 customers, customer A will have a special price, customer B has his own price, customer C has their own price, so it is special for each and everyone.

What we were thinking is just to have NO price and allow them to place an order since they already know their own pricing.

According to the description, there's a retail price and 4 wholesale prices, but I haven't used that add-on, so I can't speak from experience.

I suppose your "no price" suggestion will work since you'll only be selling to certain customers who already know what to expect.

I am deciding between Dual Pricing and setting up a new store for wholesalers (eg retail: www.lilpixies.com; wholesale: https://www.lilpixies.com/wholesale). However, I do not wish to have to upload all my products and information twice.

Is there anyway I can do this?

You might just want to use a single store for this purpose. create the store as if it's a retail site. Then install both the "dual pricing wholesale" module, as well as the "hidden wholesale" module.

The hidden wholesale module will allow you to specify products that are available for wholesalers only, but not to be visible to the retail store.

You can create a link https://www.lilpixies.com/wholesale and just forward it to the main login page. Then your wholesale customers can login and get the experience as if they're in a different store.

I assume you then want your wholesalers to pay for the invoice later, as calculated by your in-house person or department?

In this case, simply mark all of your products as free or $0. Then your customers can check out without paying anything or viewing prices.

Just be careful though, you could end up with some pricing complaints from customers by using this method. Or even worse, deliver and not receive payment. Perhaps you'll want to email an invoice to them before you ship out.

I know it's probably not this simple, but is there any way you could utilize the group pricing in Zen Cart?

If the discounts for every product were the same every customer could be their own group and you could fine tune the discounts.

Other than that you might want to give 'That Software Guy' a visit and maybe he can come up with a solution.
