Showing 'Format' in Book Product Type

I've been looking and looking to see how to get the book 'Format' to show in the product displays in the catalog. Can anyone out there tell me where I can find out how to do this?

When in the admin starting to add a new product there is a drop box to the right of the "new product" button
Select the product type associated with the type of product you are entering

I think you miss understood what my problem is. I can add to the catalog a new product of the "Book Product Type" just fine. I have created three Formats, CD, MP3-CD, and Cassette which I selected CD using the drop-down Format control in the Book Product screen. When I look at the new product in in any of the several catalog screens I do not see Format shown anywhere, even though I do see ISBN and Publisher.

I need to have the Format of the Book product show with the product for the customer. Please help.

I believe that you add the format(s) available with attibutes....

Or double check in admin > catalog > product types > select the book type > at the right select "edit layout" > see if displaying format is a switch selection or not

You inspired me to do some poking around and I found that turning on show book color gets the Format to show up some of the time but not always. It would be real nice to know how to get the "Book Color" to show with all of the product listings. Any Ideas?
