Turn off right column completely

Hi,

By default "Classic Green" template is a 3 column structure, is there any configuration setting in the admin section to turn off the right column completely instead of changing the template itself?

Yep go to configuration - Layout settings

About half way down you will see Column Right Status - Global. Set this to 0 and it will turn off the right hand column
