How to change location of side boxes for different pages?

Hi all,

  1. For "Manufacturer" side box in my zc1.3.8a, I want it to be displayed in only a few specific pages. For other pages, it will not display out.

  2. For "Information" side box, I want it to display in left-column in some pages, and then display in right-column in some other pages.

How to do the above two customizations? please kindly advise, thank you.

Best regards,
lioncity

Re: How to change location of side boxes for different pages?

In the old posts, it mentioned the

#navColumnTwo & #navColumnOne in
/includes/templates/your_template/common/tpl_main_page.php, I've searched in my tpl_main_page.php, but could not find that.

  1. What is #navColumnTwo & #navColumnOne in
    /includes/templates/your_template/common/tpl_main_page.php?

  2. Must this be done to modify the tpl_main_page.php manually? Is there any way to set up this in the admin control panel?

Please kindly advise, thank you.

Best regards,
lioncity

In that file, they'll be in statements that say id="navColumnOne" (first on line 85). You can't do what you want to do from admin.

Should it be this file:

\includes\templates\template_default\common\tpl_main_page.php ?

"navColumnOne" only can be found in /template_default/

Re: How to change location of side boxes for different pages?

If you have a tpl_main_page.php file in your custom template folder, the one in /template_default/ will be ignored, so it is never a good idea to change that one. If your template is already so customized that there is no navColumnOne, then you will have to get it by copying the section from the /template_default/ version. What template are you using? It could be hiding under another name.

By the way, I gave some incorrect advice in the referenced thread, which I have corrected there. There is no /index_home/ subfolder available for home page overrides.

My template is a heavily modified one, it is found that there is some related definition in style_sheet.css
