error when trying to email gv from admin, after upgrading from 1.3.7

Adding this to the forum since I was not finding any matches when I searched my errors :smile:

I had a 1.3.7 store which I just upgraded and patched, (bad, I know...) and started getting ' 500 internal server errors' when trying to email people a GC from the admin. other than that, the cart seemed to be working fine. I tried checking the gv_mail.php but all seemed in order. :blink:

After much searching I saw this thread:
