why is my site redirecting with a 302?

i have been solving this problem for weeks, hope someone can help me out, this is what i get for my zencart domain header under test

HTTP Status Code: HTTP/1.1 302 Moved Temporarily
Date: Wed, 07 Oct 2009 03:35:15 GMT
Server: Apache
Cache-control: private
Set-Cookie: cookie_test=please_accept_for_session; expires=Fri, 06-Nov-2009 03:35:15 GMT; path=/; domain=www.mysite.com
Location: http://www.mysite.com/index.php?zenid=
Connection: close
Transfer-Encoding: chunked
Content-Type: text/html

something wrong here? as a 302 seems not good for googlebot to index,

and when i use xenu software to check i got the following result

List of redirected URLs
http://www.mysite.com/
redirected to: http://www.mysite.com/index.php?zenid=
status code: 302 (object temporarily moved)
This URL is part of a redirection loop:
http://www.mysite.com/
http://www.mysite.com/index.php?zenid=
http://www.mysite.com/index.php?zenid=
linked from page(s):

http://www.mysite.com/index.php?zenid=
redirected to: http://www.mysite.com/index.php?zenid=
status code: 302 (object temporarily moved)
This URL is part of a redirection loop:
http://www.mysite.com/index.php?zenid=
http://www.mysite.com/index.php?zenid=
linked from page(s):
http://www.mysite.com/

my main mage redirect to index.php?zenid= what's the problem here? i have search all the post but never got a simliar problem and solution

Re: why is my site redirecting with a 302?

I'd start with getting rid of the:
**?zenid= **

in those ... you should never post, email, or add a zenid to anything ... that is the session id and managed by Zen Cart ...

Re: why is my site redirecting with a 302?

how can i get rid of the zenid? as i know the
first time visit zen store there must be a ?zenid= behind
ie. mysite.com/index.php?zenid=

then the next click will disappear, however why will cause a redirect loop for that? any suggestion can give us to try it out?

we can't figure out how to solve the problem, any similar case do people encounter ??
thank you so much, weeks of searching still make us disapointed~

Re: why is my site redirecting with a 302?

It sounds like you have something set up in your hosting account or your domain registrar to make the 302 redirect. You'll need to remove that.

Re: why is my site redirecting with a 302?

we've got this reply from our godaddy host:

Thank you for contacting Online Support. It appears that you would like to modify the headers of your Zen Cart index page. Please note, this would require customer scripting.Unfortunately, we do not provide coding or scripting support. We recommend performing a search on a search engine for more information. We appreciate your patience and understanding on this matter.

If this is not what you are trying to accomplish, please clarify what you are trying to do, and we will be happy to assist you further.

have to modify the headers of the index page?? is that true we never change any of those script as well

Re: why is my site redirecting with a 302?

You SHOULD NOT need any "header scripting". The ONLY reason to need that would be if you've modified Zen Cart and broken something, or if your domain setup is configured wrong.

  1. Your Domain Registration might have "forwarding" turned on with a 302 redirect. You need to make sure it does NOT have forwarding on.
  2. You also DO NOT want it running in a frame.
  3. What are all your settings in Admin->Configuration->Sessions? Did you ever change anything in there? If yes, then WHY?
  4. How did you install Zen Cart?
  5. What addons/customizations do you have installed?

Re: why is my site redirecting with a 302?

  1. we did move the host from somewhere to godaddy, same domain, is it the reason cause ?

cookie doman true
force cookie use true
check ssl session id false
check user agent false
check ip address false
prevent spider sessions true
recreate session true
ip to host conversion status true

we did change the force cookie use to true before

  1. follow the installation guide here
  2. no addon installed

If you change "Force Cookie Use" back to False, what happens?

it seems the same testing result but there is a long string behind the zenid=
