Importing Products and Categories

So I just installed zen cart to replace Godaddy Online Shopping cart.

I currently have over 1200 products that are organized in categories.

So the idea that I need to manually enter these products one by one is very daunting..

I'm working on perl script to import the data directly into mysql. I would like some advice as to what tables to import the data into.

Right now I see..

Zen Cart tables.

products
products_description
categories
categories_description

Am I missing any other tables or are these the only tables I need to import directly into mysql and anything I need to be concerned with or keep in mind while doing this task?

Re: Importing Products and Categories

To keep things relatively speedy, ZenCart X-indexes many tables

Add a product manually and notice the many tables incremented.
These are the tables you need to add to...
Better yet you might find ezpopulate valuable in doing this
A free version is in the downloads area

I was faced with the same problem and I found easy populate to be a lifesaver. I just wish I could upload more than 300 products at a time have over 17000

Time = money
Now that you used expopulate and know what to add where -
For a fee you might look into NaviCat and I believe that there is a trial
