can I force limits on check boxes?

zencart v1.3.8

I have a product with 15 flavor choice check boxes with the same price attribute set for each flavor.

Is there a way to limit how many check boxes can be checked at one time?

For example 15 flavors but allow only 12 to be checked at a time then force the 3 left over check boxes to be disabled?

or is there perhaps another way to accomplish this using another option?

At this time, checkboxes do not have a limit method for minimum or maximum ...

Thanks Linda for your prompt reply...I want you to know that I read through nearly the entire forum before asking my question and I am very impressed with both the Zen Cart system and with the level of commitment to help and support the people trying to implement it.
