Emailed Error Messages when Paypal Payment goes through

I have set up my site with website payments pro with debug on log and email. Every time a sale goes through I get twenty five emails with error messages, however the payment does go through.

Emails like

"IPN FATAL ERROR :: Could not find stored session in DB, cannot re-create
session as PayPal IPN transaction."

"IPN FATAL ERROR :: No saved IPN session data available. Must be an Express
Checkout or Direct Pay transaction."

"IPN WARNING :: Currency/Amount Mismatch. Details:
PayPal email address = ##########################
| mc_currency = GBP
| submitted_currency = USD
| order_currency = GBP
| mc_gross = 2.99
| converted_amount = 0.00
| order_amount = 0"

As I say the payment seems to go through fine.

Is this something to worry about? Have I set something up wrong?

Thanks

Mike

  1. If you don't want the emails, turn them off.
  2. Some of those emails appear to be coming from having the PayPal Website Payments Standard/IPN module activated and in debug mode. If you're not using Standard, click Remove to stop it from interfering.

Re: Emailed Error Messages when Paypal Payment goes through

I'm getting these errors as well.

"Oct 27 2009 19:54 -- IPN FATAL ERROR :: Could not find stored session in DB, cannot re-create session as PayPal IPN transaction.

Oct 27 2009 19:54 -- IPN FATAL ERROR :: No saved IPN session data available. Must be an Express Checkout or Direct Pay transaction."

Other than these "fatal" errors in the log, everything works fine. ( I have paymentsPro and expressCheckout installed. PaymentsStandard is not installed at all. )

I've been looking through the forum, but I can't seem to find any explanation as to what these errors mean.

Re: Emailed Error Messages when Paypal Payment goes through

As you can read from the messages, they are likely related to Express Checkout and not to Standard, and thus can be ignored.
If you're getting them in emails, turn off the debug-to-email option.
