Help with Featured Products

I'm having trouble with the "Feature Product" setting in my admin. It seems so self-explanatory, but I'm stuck!

I have a product that I'd like to feature. So, I click on "feature products" and I land on the screen with a button that says, "New Product" When I click it, I land on a blank page, with no options for choosing or adding a product to feature. It says:

"Product:"

And that's it.

I have a zen-cart guidebook that shows what's supposed to appear there... a drop down menu with a list of all the products. Is that correct? Have I not configured something?

After browsing around here for a few hours, I notice that I'm not the only one who's had this problem, but none of the other posters seem to have received any answers to the question...

One post led me to the master_categories_id section of my product list, but I'm not sure what that is or what to do there, or whether that's even the answer.

I would so so appreciate some help.

A few other things that might help anyone who wants to help:

I switched my template back to the classic, just to see if my custom template was the problem, but had the same issue in the standard zen-cart template.

I have about 6,000 products in my inventory right now. But I don't think it's timing out... it's not hanging long enough to time out.

When I click "new product" I don't even see the product menu at all. I saw that some people saw the menu with nothing in it. But I see nothing at all.

I use Easy Populate.

Here's a screen shot of what I see:

1. Hmm not sure what advise i can give because i havent had such problem. But Specials are very similar. Can you mark a product as a special or do you have the same problem?

2. Did you have this problem from the start? with less products?

3. Maybe try to search for a featured product in the top right corner if this works. Maybe its because you have so many products that the list does not load.

Hi, yes, I get the same result with "specials" -- blank page. It could be the number of products, but it doesn't seem like that should be a problem, considering that other menus don't seem to have a problem handling the quantity -- like the "go to" menu.

Hm... That's a good question. I have no idea if I've had this problem from the start, because I haven't tried to use that feature yet. I'm still just getting my store set up.

Im having this exact same problem using Zen Cart v1.3.7.1/v1.3.8 How can this be fixed?? No products are showing up in the Products: list box in the Featured Products control panel for adding a product. Does there need to be any special setting made for the product in the Categories>Products panel?

How do you have v1.3.7.1/v1.3.8 ... :unsure:

Do you mean you upgraded from v1.3.7.1 to v1.3.8?

If so, did this work in v1.3.7.1?

Did it ever work in v1.3.8?

Do Featured, Specials or Attributes Controller work at all?

How many Products do you have?

Are any already set as Featured?

Are they all set to Featured? The display only shows Products not already set to Featured ...

I removed and re-added the products and it seems to be working now, thanks.
