Am I Misunderstanding SSL?

I just posted this about an hour ago and now I have just reread this article and am starting to think that I have something mixed up?

According to step 1 in the tutorial article, I technically can access my site using https address. It simply warns about the 'Untrusted Connection.' Does this satisfy #1 of the tutorial article: being able to access my site using the https address?

Do I now simply activate SSL in ZC per the tutorial article? Or, do I need to fix that error first?

Also why would that error come up? The error states that the 'identification is untrusted' Why? The SSL has been installed and activated successfully in my hosting control panel.

Please advise and thank you for all help!
