Gradient background... how to change?

Actally, since I'm at it, 3 questions at once.. lol
Got tired to search the php and css files line by line
Somebody knows where this is... (I hope)

  1. how do I change the gradient colour in the very top header (where the "home" and "log in" links are) and the footer (where currently my lone "home" link sits.

  2. I've created a subcatedory called "All Downloads From This Artist" inside a main category called "Downloads". Testing the cart, the subcategory does not show up when you click on "Downloads". I got around this by inserting a text link to the subcategory (in the main categories description). Why doesn't the subcategory show up when I click "Add Include Subcategories" in the main category's edit mode?

  3. Since I don't list any individual products in my main category ("Downloads") because they are sorted into their respective subcategories, I get this message "There are no products to list in this category" below the text link I've inserted. How do I change (or get rid of) this auto-generated message?

(Newbie... lol .. tired of combing line by line... )

  1. Those are images - search your stylesheet for tile_back.gif. If you remove the image, you'll have regular blue bars and you can change the color in the stylesheet.

  2. and 3. It sounds like you don't have your categories and subcategories set up properly. Let's see a link to the site.

Re: Gradient background... how to change?

Thanks Steve, I've got a partner in this project and he's cagey about putting the url out there before its finished (groan) but it's like this: I've got 2 categories in the top folder that don't have any products in them yet. This auto-generates a message "There are no products to list in this category". How do I get rid of or change this message to something else? Btw, the subcategories do show up if I enable the sidebox for it. I just thought they would show up in the center main page too.

Also, I'm looking for the switch to turn off the "New Products For This Month" box in the center of the home page. Any idea?

I'm running into another problem yet: Papal kicks back the payment (log in) page with the message "This Paypal Account Does Not accept unencrypted payments". Havn't figured out how to change this ...

Anyhow, thank you for your input

Regards

Cagey or not, a link would help us help you (and him). Posting your URL with spaces between each character will prevent spiders from finding it.

Admin - Configuration - Index Listing

The fact is, you don't have any products in that category. The answer is to have some. You can search for that string in Admin - Tools - Developers Tool Kit. You may be able to remove it. If you have subcategories in that category, they should show when the category is selected. It may be a template issue, which makes a link to your site handier.

Re: Gradient background... how to change?

Steve, thanks again. Curious enough, it's showing up now. I may have stumbled over it by accident. I have a "free test download" that I first moved to the "download" root category only to find that now all I saw was this test download and none of the subcategory at all. So I moved it to another root category and tested cross-linking to the remaining (still empty) rootcategories. Now the icon for the download subcategory shows up under the text link that I've put up there initially. Maybe the server had to refresh properly... (don't know what I did for it to work now... lol)

About the "New Products For This Month" box, I figure it's a module switch I just haven't found yet

Have to address the encryption issue with paypal before I do anything else...

You've helped! thanks
