Can't seem to change width of site?

Hi there,
I'm hoping someone can help me... I've spent hours trying to get the width of my site changed. I want it wider and I've followed the tutorials and nothing seems to work. I've tried so many things that now I think I have a combination of them that's preventing it from working...

I tried messing with the header since I couldn't get my image changed... somehow I've managed to get the Logo on there now, but it's at a bigger size than the middle portion of the site which wouldn't be bad except that it's not centered and looks off.

HELP, please...
I had an old free site, but thought that zen cart would look better and more professional, but with my inexperience it still looks cheesy!!!

Thanks in advance for your expertise :)
Also, any suggestions would be great....
I hope to figure out how to change the colour of the text too...
Add extra images...
Add little buttons to match the logo...

All of which I could probably find in a tutorial or manual that I have, but this is just not working, so thanks!!!

Re: Can't seem to change width of site?

You edit #mainWrapper in your stylesheet to change the width, but you'll need to resize your header image to match.

Re: Can't seem to change width of site?

Since you are using a 'magic' override template for your site, make sure you edit the file includes/templates/magic/css/stylesheet.css instead of unintentionally editing the file includes/templates/template_default/css/stylesheet.css as mentioned in the article you may have referenced.

Re: Can't seem to change width of site?

May I suggest the Imagehandler 2 addon to improve the quality of your small images?

At the moment the images not scaled well by the browser. Thus your pencil drawings are very see on the screen.

Imagehandler resizes the images on the server and sends the smaller version which should display nicer.

Re: Can't seem to change width of site?

Thanks so much for all your help... I managed to get it all fixed using Firebug... wonderful tool!

Also, I'm going to be checking out image handler too (thanks)... I realize they're not optimized for viewing (which is important considering we're trying to sell them!) and so I'll try that.

Thanks again :)
