Customising a category page

I have set up a top level category which then drops down to sub level categories . But how do I customise the top level category page? At the moment all it has on it are the sublevel links. I want to be able to add more than just the sublevel image/title links it allows you to add from the admin categories area.

Thanks
Nicky

Re: Customising a category page

This file the is used to display the content of this page is /includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/templates/tpl_index_categories.php

You can customise your template to display some more information. Use the overwrite system to create your own custom version.

Re: Customising a category page

Thanks for that - I am a bit of a newbie to all of this so please bear with me... I do not have that page in that directory? Am I missing something?

Thanks
Nicky

Re: Customising a category page

Don't overlook that you can edit a category and enter text, imbed images and insert html code using the editor.
