No front to the store, can get to admin

Today, I decided to upgrade to the new version of Image Handler since the old one worked but not well. In order to not have any conflicts with the lightbox, I uninstalled it first and then uninstalled the old version of IH. And then installed the new version. I didn't just overwrite the old files, I went in and uninstalled the old files so the new ones were fresh.

I use winscp as my ftp.

I can get to my backend I just have no front to my store. I ended up uninstalling IH completely after talking to my hosting company. We use a managed VPS, I checked the php version before I started, it's version 5.2.9.

This is not a new site but the only upgrade I have installed is the patch.

I have a template that is using the classic folder instead of it's own to avoid problems. I broke the site trying to use any other template folder.

I went thru and uploaded all the files I knew I had edited without doing a completely new upload.

The previous version of IH worked, but it had issues such as the png files did not work, gif files worked about 1/3 of the time. etc. But right now, it is not installed and neither is Zen Lightbox.

I tried the Debugging utility and it didn't give me any info.

I've taken it down to NO mods now and still can not get into the front of the store. Liz

Never mind, I figured out how to do fix it. What I did for those who run into this issue that no one responded to:

I downloaded a clean copy of ZC.

How old is your site? If it's a new install, I would just start over. IF you have lots of information in your downloads and images like I did, then do this VERY carefully. It's like being a surgeon.

Once you delete all mods you have installed, and I mean ALL mods and delete your custom templates if you have any (download a copy of those to your computer to a folder called something like Download Store Files-todays date).

Then download a clean copy of ZC and a copy of the patch. I put them together to make life easier.

Next, Start uploading VERY CAREFULLY. Load your admin, cache and doc files, SKIP your download folder. Do NOT upload anything in there. Upload Editors, Email, and Extras. SKIP IMAGES! Upload Includes, Media, Pub and ZC_Install...

IF yours is like mine, the min it gets to the ZC_Install folder, your site will reappear.

Do NOT touch your database.

BEFORE doing all this, make a backup of your store just in case.

ONCE You have it working again, make a backup before installing anything. Then install your template, then back up, add a mod, back up. Add another mod, back up, and do this til you have everything you need.
