Is this Free Shipping all of the time?
Or is this Free Shipping as in for 1 Order?

Hello there,
I want to offer free shipping for the month of November only. But this will be an option I would like to offer every now and again,
Thank you

You could use the Free Shipping Options freeoptions and add a Zone to it for who is allowed the Free Shipping, if it is not everyone ...
Then configure this Free Shipping Options freeoptions for Total >= 0, and it will show in addition to your other shipping modules ...
If you limit it with a Zone definition, it will only show to people in that Zone definition ...

Ajeh - so if I have free shipping all of the time on all products, but want to reject any orders from two specific US states, do I need to create a zone definition that contains the other 48 US states and select it in the Free Shipper module? Is there an easier way?
Oba-san
If you use Free Shipping Options freeoptions and set the Total to >= 0.00 ... and build a Zone for all states except the 2 ...
Then build a Zone for the 2 states that are excluded and put that on another shipping module then it will display the Free Shipping Options freeoptions shipping modules for everyone except the 2 states you are excluding ... and it will display the other shipping module only for those 2 states ...

Would building a zone for 48 of the 50 states be done under "Zone Definitions" or "Zones" in "Locations/Taxes"? I apologize if that seems like a dumb question, but I tend to easily confuse myself when looking at the those options under "Loacations/Taxes". Thanks for your help.
Oba-san
In the Zone Definitions ...
You might peek at this thread:

for a quick way to backup your database and create the Zone for the Lower 48 States plus DC ...

Awesome!! Now why could I not find that in my forum searches.
One question about the SQL portion...does the middle number, "(223, 1, 21)," represent a state? Just curious how I can determine which states to leave out. The two I am not shipping to are Oregon and California.

In looking at the zen_zones table in mysql, I guess I just leave out the "zone_id" for the "zone_name" I do not want to include in the new zone? California is zone_id 12, so I would not include (223, 12, 21) in the "INSERT INTO `zones_to_geo_zones'" statement in the thread you suggested? I figure it's safer to ask a dumb question before messing with something I am not that fmailiar with.
Oba-san
You can also import the SQL which is No Alaska and No Hawaii and Add Alaska and Hawaii and remove California and Oregon ...
NOTE: I think you will find them at the end of the list on the last page, not in alpha order ...

Ok, many thanks. I appear to have teh Zone Definition created successfully. However when adding Free Shipping Options in the shipping modules page, when I assign the 48 state zone I created to it, the icon in the sort order column is yellow. Shouldn't it be green if all is well? What does the yellow indicate?
It appears to be working even with that icon being yellow.
Oba-san
Yellow means two things ...
1 check for errors
2 you have a Zone set to filter it
You have a Zone set, so you get the yellow icon ...

Sweet. I thought the yellow just meant there was an error, not also an indicator of a filter. Many thanks for your help in this thread as well as in the "Disable sales to a specific state" thread.

You are most welcome ... thanks for the update that this works for you ...

Hello Ajeh
Could you help?
I want to offer FREE shipping options for all countries except of 28 countries (Australia, NZ and Oceania).
I know that I should specify Zone for that, but this is crazy to add all countried manually with exception of those 28 locations....
Maybe there is some SQL patch to install or how I can I made this?!
Thanks in advance
Oba-san
Well ... when you need a Zone specific, where everyone gets included but not some, then you need to add them one way or another ...
When you say all but 28 countries and then only list 3, does that mean something that is escaping me at the moment?

How would I apply this rule to Ireland and Northern Ireland, my items are always free shipping for those countries.
